October 29, 2002 – “One Of Those Days” was released as the second single from the Just Whitney album. The song was written by Kevin Briggs, Dwight Renolds, Patrice Stewart, Ernest Isley, Marvin Isley, Christopher Jasper, Kelly Isley, Ronald Isley and Rudolph Isley and produced by Briggs. The song samples The Isley Brothers’ “Between The Sheets” from 1983.
Both the song and the music video were recorded in Atlanta, with the video being directed by Kevin Bray, one of Whitney’s favorite video directors. The song received positive reviews from critics, with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution calling the song “a breezy girls-night-out” cut. Billboard wrote the song marks “a triumphant return of one of the great singers, who delivers the goods in glorious voice.”
