May 24, 1984 – Whitney’s duet with Teddy Pendergrass, “Hold Me,” was released as a single. The song appeared on Pendergrass’ album Love Language in 1984 and on Whitney’s debut album in 1985. Written by Linda Creed and Michael Masser, with production by Masser, it became a Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and peaked at #46 on the Billboard Hot 100.
