The recent biopic reminded me of the greatest singer of our lifetimes. Her voice was so powerful, yet so smooth and crisp too. Ten years later, her later years and passing still make me sad 😢, but we still have my favorites:
📀 1. How Will I Know: the 12″ single on Houston St.; If you haven’t heard it already, listen to the isolated vocal. It’s stunning and stirring.
💿 2. Moment of Truth: Not to be confused with One Moment in Time, this was the B-side to I Wanna Dance and a criminally neglected track.
💽 3. I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me): This route is the less cropped image from the single that includes her hands and waist. In retrospect, the cropped second “Whitney” album cover would’ve been enough mileage.
On this three-day roundabout tour of SF, of course I had to include Whitney, Elizabeth, and Houston Streets. 😊
