July 6, 2018 – The documentary Whitney, directed by Kevin Macdonald, was released in theaters. The film had screened as part of the Cannes Film Festival in May of that year and, to date, this is Whitney’s only authorized documentary (her official biopic starring Naomi Ackie was released this past December). The documentary was nominated at the 61st GRAMMY Awards for Best Music Film.
