On July 5, 1993 Whitney’s The Bodyguard World Tour commenced in Miami, Florida, to support the multi-platinum soundtrack album The Bodyguard. The tour ran until mid-November 1994, was her fifth concert tour, and included a seven-night run at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The New York Times wrote, “Houston belted ballads, predictably bringing down the house with songs that moved from aching verses to surging choruses.”
