The song was written by Ashford & Simpson and was originally recorded by Chaka Khan in 1978. Whitney’s version was produced by Narada Michael Walden with additional remix production by Clivilles & Cole and adds the introduction, “Whatever you want, whatever you need…” Chaka was one of Whitney’s favorite singers and she made sure to include her in the music video.
